GOLD SPONSOR

The organizing committee would like to thank Achacha Fruit Plantations for being a gold sponsor.

Achacha Fruit Plantations (AFP) grows the Achacha tropical fruit (Garcinia humilis, achachairú) at its Palm Creek Plantation, 45 km south of Townsville in North Queensland, Australia. Certified organic, using biodynamic methods, AFP has 16,000 trees in the world’s first and still largest commercial plantation.

The fruit originated in the Amazon Basin of Bolivia, where it is grows in small holdings. Bright orange in colour, roughly the size and shape of an egg, the Achacha has a unique flavour described by taste experts as “sweet, tangy, refreshing; like a sorbet”. It is a cousin of the mangosteenbut has only one third the sugar content. Most of AFP’s production is sold within Australia, but regular exports are made to the EU, SE Asia, the Middle East and Canada.
