Through FAO’s facilitation, 28 participant’s delegates from 10 countries had contributed the Agribusiness-PPP successful model in their respective countries. During this workshop Dr. Desa has presented his paper titled “Empowering PPP’s for Economic Transformation through Sustainable Fruit Production” to share and recommend some experiences based on Malaysia perspective in empowering PPP’s for sustainable agriculture and fruits production.
BANGKOK, Thailand: CEO TFnet had a courtesy visit to Food and Agriculture Organization for Asia and the Pacific (FAO-RAP) Office in Bangkok on the July 19, 2016. He met Dr. Piao Yong Fan, Senior Plant Protection Officer. During this visit he had express his attention and interested to have a joint collaboration project with FAO and stakeholder on tropical fruit disease particularly to mitigate Banana Foc Tropical Race 4 (Foc-TR4). During this meeting Dr. Desa highlighted that TFNet have their responsible to disseminate an appropriate information and develop capacity building among the member country to prevent spreading any importance disease with concern to tropical fruits. He offering FAO to have a collaboration with TFNet in developing method and alternative of banana production technology to facing these challenges towards sustainable agriculture and banana production. He also suggested among the experts and stakeholder of TR4 they should have a focal point like a consortium to closely work to develop an activity, monitor and evaluate such development program to fronting out the problem.
