Workshop overview
Social media and the internet are fast becoming market indicators and influencers, especially on the younger generation. Customer attitudes and preferences change to reflect current behavioral variations. There is a need to capture the modern buying habits of the new generation. Entrepreneurs need to adapt and evolve in order to not be left out in this digital revolution — making use of these innovations to work to their advantage by moving from the traditional brick-and-mortar structure to a more digital, borderless organization.
Women SME owners are increasingly becoming an important contributor to a country’s economic growth; establishing and developing novel products and services. With this in mind, women entrepreneurs have to be equipped with knowledge and hands-on experience in digital marketing awareness especially on the usage of social media. The International Tropical Fruits Network (TFNet) and NAM Institute for the Empowerment of Women (NIEW) under the Ministry of Women, Family, and Community Development, Malaysia (KPWKM) will be jointly organizing a training workshop to empower women in agri-food businesses for increased livelihoods via digital marketing.
Participants will be taught on the importance of digital marketing; adapting and blending both traditional and digital strategies to increase their product and brand visibility on the market. By the end of the workshop, participants should be able to develop suitable marketing campaigns while producing a sustainable business strategy.
