Despite the complex international scenario caused by the pandemic, the Venezuelan company Casa Fresca has successfully exported more than 200,000 kilograms of Spanish Red pineapples and more than 122,000 kilograms of Kent and Keitt mangoes to Iran.
“We started to prepare to export four years ago. We had planned to start in May with air exports and then continue with maritime cargo. However, due to the closure of flights because of COVID-19, we began our first exports in July via maritime cargo, which are destined to the Islamic Republic of Iran in this first stage,” stated Luz Desiree Rodriguez, the founder, and president of the company.
She also said this was the first large maritime cargo of mangoes that Venezuela has made to a single client in such a short time. It is also the first time since the 1990s that such a large shipment of pineapples has been exported in a single shipment.
Asia and Europe, future destinations for Venezuelan fruits
According to Rodríguez, “we have identified potential clients in Asia and Europe. We project that we’ll expand to these large centers of world consumption in a short time because our exotic fruits meet international quality standards. Casa Fresca has generated a direct synergy with the producers with whom we have made alliances to achieve an excellent product to enter and remain in these international markets.”
She also said that Casa Fresca was working on a project to receive foreign investment to further modernize and expand its processes.
