Del Monte Fresh Produce has created the Pinkglow Pineapple that is now available in stores including right here in Pennsylvania.

The Pinkglow, Del Monte said, is “juicier and sweeter” than a traditional pineapple and has a pink interior. Is it time to rethink the piña colada?

Del Monte says the “Jewel of the Jungle” is produced in limited harvests in Costa Rica where it can take up to 24 months to grow.

“With a delicious and completely unique taste, the Pinkglow Pineapple boasts notes of candy aromatics and is sure to delight consumers of all ages,” says Del Monte.

Del Monte said the Pinkglow Pineapples have been in development since 2005. They are harvested by hand with their crowns replanted to increase the volume of crops and reduce waste. The crowns are removed before shipment.
