Peru exported 410,463,231 kilos of avocado in 2020, i.e. 32% or almost 100 million kilos more than the 310,870,326 kilos it exported in 2019, according to data published by Agrodata Peru.
The value of avocado exports didn’t increase due to the low prices there were in the international market ($ 1.88 per kilo on average in 2020 compared to $ 2.40 per kilo in 2019) because of the high supply of avocado. As a result, in 2020 Peru’s avocado exports totaled 771,696,907 dollars, i.e. only 3.5% higher than the 745,738,773 dollars achieved in 2019.
