TFNet participated at the FAO-UN Workshop on Resilience and Sustainability in Tropical Fruit Value Chains from 15th-16th May 2024, at Rome, Italy.

Representing TFNet is its Advisor, Mr Yacob Ahmad who provided regional perspectives in Asia and the Pacific on increasing costs of production and trade of tropical fruits. The workshop is  organized as a component of the FAO project “Building responsible global value chains for the sustainable production and trade of tropical fruits”.

The workshop brought together a wide range of stakeholders engaged in the tropical fruit sector who addressed various topics including economic, environmental and social sustainability; adaptation to and mitigation of climate change; responsible business conduct; due diligence; deforestation; sustainable production systems; distribution of value in the supply chain; labour rights; and gender equity.
