Just how big is the World’s Largest Pineapple Display?

The display, which debuted June 28, is 20 feet by 36 feet — said vice president of produce and floral Mike Tipton.

Schnucks plans to use 19,650 pineapples for the display, making it the biggest ever by a significant margin, as previous record-setters had 15,000-18,000 pineapples, according to a news release.

The fruit is priced at 99 cents each or $5 for a case of seven pineapples. The display will stay up for one week.
Shoppers who take a selfie with the display and post the photo to Instagram with the hashtag #WorldsLargestPineappleDisplay — and include the pineapple emoji between the pound sign and the text of the hashtag — will be entered to win $1,000 in Schnucks gift cards.

The retailer will also have samples of grilled salmon burgers topped with pineapple and other “pineapple-themed food, desserts and drinks,” according to the release.

“Excitement sells produce!” Tipton said. “How better to do that than going after the record pineapple display? At Schnucks we pride ourselves in being ‘best in fresh’ and partnering with our suppliers like Fyffes to create excitement for our shoppers to buy fresh produce.”

A portion of pineapple sales at the store will go to Folds of Honor, an organization that gives scholarships to spouses and children of fallen and disabled military service members. Schnucks raised $1.1 million for the nonprofit with its Schnucks Folds of Honor campaign in 2018.
