The Fiji Institute of Agricultural Science (FIAS) in collaboration with the organizing committee for the Pacific Week of Agriculture and Forestry (PWAF) in support from the Secretariat of the Pacific Community (SPC) and Australian Center for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) will be organizing a Regional Symposium as a side event to provide platform for the regions researchers to present and discuss their research findings from 14th to 16th of November, 2022 in Nadi, Fiji Islands.

 

The Organizers are therefore calling for research papers from interested researchers, academia and postgraduate students to present their findings in this symposium. The theme for the symposium is Transforming Agriculture & Forestry in the Pacific through Science & Technology”.

 

The deadline for submission of abstracts for the symposium is Sunday 18th of September, 2022. Abstracts to maximum of 250 words using the theme front of Arial Narrow and Font size of 14 should be submitted to secretariat.fias@gmail.com. A full paper will be required to be submitted by 31st October 2022 to be included in the proceedings.

The symposium is multidisciplinary in the field of Agriculture and Forestry.  We welcome abstracts from the following topics:

This is a research symposium. Abstracts arguing for particular policy positions are welcome, but must be based on solid research. Abstracts outlining proposed research will not be accepted. All presentations will be in person.

 

Funding for presenters

Registration to attend the symposium is at your own cost. We recommend that you apply for funding from agencies that you are involved with to attend this first ever Regional symposium organized in conjunction with the PWAF.
