TFNet bade farewell to 3 members of the board who had played pivotal roles and contributed enormously to the network since its establishment in 2000. All three were given recognition by Chairperson of the Board HE Datuk Mohd. Hashim Abdullah and members during the 7the session of the TFNet Board Meeting which was held in Ho Chi Minh, Vietnam on 4 July 2013. The three had assisted the network in various activities including charting out its strategic plans, assisting the organization of conferences, workshops and study visits, contributing articles and providing inputs to improve the role and function of TFNet.
The three members honoured were:
- Dr. Nguyen Minh Chau, Director of Southern Fruit Trees Research Institute (SOFRI), My Tho, Tien Giang Province, S. Vietnam
- Prof. Dr. Sisir K. Mitra, Faculty of Horticulture, Bidhan Chandra Krishi Viswavidyalaya, Mohanpur, Nadia, West Bengal. also ISHS Chair for Tropical fruits
- Prof. Emeritus Dr. Errol Hewett, Massey University, New Zealand, also ISHS Chair for Education
