Jackfruit
Agronomy - Fertiliser

Fertiliser

Jackfruit requires sufficient fertiliser for good growth and yield. Both chemical and organic fertilisers are recommended. For the first 3 years of growth, a fertiliser formulation of 15:15:15, NPK is usually applied for good growth. From the 4 th year onwards, the fertiliser formulation should contain a higher potassium content to encourage fruiting. The recommended fertiliser formulation is 12:7:24 NPK. The fertiliser should be applied at 3-month intervals or 4 times a year. The fertiliser is broadcasted under the tree canopy at least 0.6 m away from the tree trunks. The recommended fertiliser programme is given in Table 1 .
